We are currently seeking 4 SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a SEN school based in Hayes. The school is looking to interview and trial immediately so apply today.
Job Specification:
- SEN Teaching Assistant
- Supporting children 1:1 with autism and behavioural needs
- Term-time only
- Monday – Friday
- Located in Hayes
You will be expected to be a support pupils that have varying degrees of Autism. You will need to support them with their academic, social and emotional development as well as incorporating effective strategies and interventions to manage behaviour and build up positive relationships.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive environment and make a real difference to the children’s learning. The ideal candidate will have previous experience (minimum 3 – 6 months) working with children who have SEN such as:
- Autism
- ADHD
- SEMH
- Challenging Behaviour
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has a strong passion for helping children who are unable to attend mainstream education due to their challenging behaviour. You’ll need to have a patient and friendly nature whilst adopting a firm but fair approach.
The role will include:
- Assisting the teacher in maintaining classroom discipline
- Assisting the teacher with implementing lesson plans and supporting the teacher in lesson planning
- Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Maintaining classroom supplies including paper, markers, crayons, pens, glue sticks, markers, books, etc.
- Communicating with parents regarding their child’s progress in a timely manner
