Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for the opportunity to support children with SEN to improve attainment levels and aid in their development?

Ortus Recruitment are looking for 2 resilient and positive individuals to take on the role of SEN Teaching Assistant in an inclusive, mainstream Primary School in Hayes, London Borough of Hillingdon.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to make a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs while being consistently aided and encouraged by the Senior Leadership Team and fellow staff members, with the potential to progress on to a Teacher Training programme if deemed an ideal candidate.

SEN Teaching Assistant responsibilities:

• Have a nurturing and empathetic approach to teaching
• Leading 1:1 and small group interventions i.e. phonics, numeracy and literacy
• Encourage participation from SEN pupils and support them where necessary
• Engage students confidently and help them raise attainment
• Ensure the safety and welfare of the pupils at all times

Main Expectations:

• 6+ months experience supporting children with SEN (desirable)
• Have a level 3 qualification, e.g. CACHE level 3 or a degree in a relevant subject e.g. psychology or education (desirable)
• Strong numeracy/comprehension/literacy skills
• Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
