We are currently recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant join the team in a mainstream primary school in the London Borough of Richmond, Isleworth.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for working on a 1:1 basis with a KS1 pupil that has ADHD. It will be you responsibility to maintain the pupil’s focus and set boundaries and manage behaviour effectively. The pupil is known to cry when feeling overwhelmed or tired and when he becomes emotional, may sit on the floor and refuse to get up. The successful individual will be able to put interventions in place to manage his emotions effectively.

SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related qualification
• Experience working with SEN
• Experience working in classroom setting
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
