Ortus recruitment are searching for a kind and passionate teaching assistant who has had experience working with children with special educational needs. If you apply for this role and are accepted you will be working closely with a student in a year 4 class who has mild autism. This child has difficulty focusing for a long period of time and stay engaged in the lesson. Your job role will include :
- Delivering creative learning activities that children can learn from but also stay engaged throughout the day.
- Listening to the students needs, and meeting them in an appropriate manner
- Encourage the students to interact with their peer, which can boost their self confidence
- Read to the children daily, and get them to read to you to help improve their spelling and pronunciation of words they have difficulty with.
- Keeping record of the children’s progress, highlighting areas where they need to improve, and implementing action to help them improve.
