SEN Teaching Assistant | Mainstream Primary School

Ortus Recruitment are working with a Mainstream School within the Wandsworth area that supports children with a range of different special education needs and disabilities within the same classroom.

As a SEND Teaching assistant you will be teaching pupils with needs that are a barrier to learning in a mainstream school or alternative provision, typically associated with SEMH, Autism and Asperger’s.

The role we have is initially temporary, with a view to go permanent for the right candidate. Working hours are 8:30-16:00, Monday to Friday, term time only with pay rates from £85 – £105 per day dependent on experience. You will be required to contribute to the planning and school life.

What you will need:

Excellent SEN knowledge mandatory

  • SEN Teaching assistant experience which we are able to reference
  • A DBS on the update service (or be willing to pay for a new one)
  • Confident & strong classroom management skills
  • Work collectively alongside teachers assisting them with classroom activities, ensuring a positive and supportive environment.
