Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream primary school in New Malden and they are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to commit to a full time-long term role. The school is well known for its friendly staff and their amazing pupils who are eager to learn something new every day.

The role:

• Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
• Location: New Malden
• Full time – long term
• Immediate start
• PAYE – £80-£90

Within this role:

• Work 1:1 or in small groups of students supporting them with their numeracy, literacy and reading skills.
• Liaising with parents and teachers, giving them feedback on the children’s progress
• Helping the class teacher with managing class behaviour
• Meeting the children’s physical, social and emotional needs
• Keeping record of the children’s progress and highlighting areas they need to improve on

The ideal candidate will have:

• A passion for working with children
• A fully enhanced DBS on the update service
• Confident in supporting students 1:1 and in small groups
• Able to start immediately and commute to the area of the school
