A highly supportive SEN school in Croydon is seeking a patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to work with KS3 and KS4 students with PMLD. This role involves assisting with personal care, sensory learning activities, and specialist communication methods.
The Role:
You will be working with students who have significant physical and learning disabilities, helping them engage with their education in a way that meets their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with PMLD.
- Assist with personal care, including feeding, toileting, and moving & handling (training provided).
- Support students with sensory activities and communication methods such as eye-gaze technology.
- Work closely with therapists and medical staff to follow personalised learning and care plans.
- Foster a positive and engaging learning environment for students with complex needs.
About You:
- Experience supporting students with PMLD or complex medical needs is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to SEN support.
- Willingness to assist with personal care and physical support.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
