A specialist PRU in Croydon is seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide academic and emotional support to students facing barriers to mainstream education.

The Role:

You will work with students who have been excluded from mainstream school, helping them to engage with learning and develop positive behaviours.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural challenges.
• Implement tailored behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Support students in developing emotional regulation and coping skills.
• Assist teachers in delivering structured lessons to re-engage pupils with learning.
• Build strong, trusting relationships to foster a positive school experience.

About You:

• Experience working with pupils in a PRU or similar setting is desirable.
• Confident in managing challenging behaviour using restorative approaches.
• A calm, patient, and solution-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
