SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Richmond

Ortus recruitment are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work inside a Special Education Needs (SEN) school in the area of Richmond. We’re looking for a passionate induvial who wants to dedicate their time towards helping children with difficulties. You’ll need to be a friendly and approachable individual and look to create bonds with the children around you, you’re going to be tasked with both 1:1 and group learning with your children. Making sure the children create relationships is very vital in a role like this, they need to socialise with each-other so they can develop skills for both the outside world and also at home. The children are extremely excited to learn and develop a bond with the staff that are at the school. You’ll be working with children who have moderate learning difficulties (MLD) this can range from Down’s Syndrome, Autism (ASC/ADC), Global Delay along with many more.

The SEN school you’ll be working with are highly regarded within the local community, the staff are experienced professionals and are looking for somebody to join them. The staff are extremely friendly and are willing to help out whoever joins their team. The school has great resources to help develop the children’s learning, you’ll be able to use these to help create both group and 1:1 activities for the children.  The successful candidate will need to be someone who has a brilliant understanding of children who need additional support when learning.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll need to be very patient and understanding with the children, as well as being able to adapt well into a new environment. This role is a full-time, long term role. It has great potential to become a permanent role as well.

Monday-Friday

8:30am-4:00pm
