Ortus Recruitment are currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school. They are looking for an individual who is motivated, passionate, and has a strong understanding of SEN. If you apply for this role, you will need to be available from Monday – Friday, from 8:30 am – 4pm, with an hour lunch break.

Responsibilities

• Prepare learning materials
• Adapt teaching support according to student’s needs
• Look after children’s physical, social and emotional welfare
• Create an interesting environment for students
• Keep records and attend review meetings
• Work with professionals such as speech and language therapists

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children with special needs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine commitment to the welfare of students
• Knowledge of relevant educational and therapeutic strategies
