A school located in Richmond are looking for a teaching assistant who has experience working with children with SEN, and are eager to help them with their academic studies. The school are looking for someone who is confident in working with children, planning and leading activities, which are engaging and beneficial for the students to flourish in their studies.

If you are accepted for this role, you will be specifically working with a child who is in year 3 and has mild autism. Your role will include planning lessons through physical activities, because it significantly improves the social interaction ability and communication skills of the children. You will also be teaching this student different ways to approach their learning, because they struggle to change their routine. Therefore by providing them with various ways to improve in their studies, it can increase their self-confidence. You should have the ability to remain calm in stressful situations seen as the child’s behaviour can change quite quickly, therefore being able to react efficiently and in an appropriate manner is vital.

  • Sensitivity and understanding towards the child’s needs
  • Enthusiastic mindset to help encourage the students throughout the day
  • Highly educated with SEN children
