SEN Teaching Assistant – Speech & Language Support (Year 4)

Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon, Greater London
Salary: £90 – £100 per day (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Do you have experience supporting children with speech and language difficulties?
A welcoming primary school in Thornton Heath is looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with Year 4 students requiring additional support with speech, language, and communication.

The Role:

• Provide one-to-one and small-group interventions focused on speech and language development.
• Use visual aids, social stories, and structured conversations to improve communication.
• Work alongside the school’s speech and language therapist to implement support plans.
• Help develop students’ confidence in verbal and non-verbal communication.
• Support phonics, vocabulary development, and structured language activities.

About You:

• Experience supporting children with speech and language difficulties is desirable.
• Knowledge of early language development strategies and interventions.
• A patient, encouraging, and creative approach to supporting communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with staff and therapists.
