A specialist SEMH school in Croydon is looking for a confident and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support KS4 students who require additional emotional and behavioural support to succeed in education.
The Role:
You will be working with students who may have experienced trauma or exclusion from mainstream education, helping them re-engage with learning and develop essential life skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with students to support their academic, emotional, and behavioural development.
- Implement behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Support students in core subjects and practical life skills sessions.
- Build strong relationships and act as a positive role model.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and pastoral staff.
About You:
- Experience supporting students with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour is desirable.
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
- Ability to remain calm and patient in high-pressure situations.
- A proactive and compassionate approach to supporting young people.
