Are you eager to make a positive impact in the classroom and help students overcome their learning challenges? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in South Croydon.

The Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. You will assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and provide targeted support to ensure all students can participate and thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN, adapting resources and strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and monitoring progress, ensuring students are on track to meet their goals.
  • Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, using positive behaviour management techniques.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Help students build independence and confidence through consistent encouragement and structured support.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers, the SENCO, and parents.

About You:
We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and proactive individual who is enthusiastic about supporting students with SEN. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN, preferably in a school setting.
  • A good understanding of different SEN and the ability to adapt support methods accordingly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A proactive approach to learning and the ability to adapt to changing needs within the classroom.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or childcare are desirable.
  • Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly valued.
