A school in Surbiton is looking for a SEN teaching assistant who is passionate about helping children not only progress in their academic studies, but helping them deal with their emotional needs. The school has a diverse environment, therefore every student is treated equally whether they have a disability or not.

 If you apply for this role and are accepted, you will be working one to one with students helping them with their numeracy and literacy skills. Furthermore you should have the ability to plan a lesson in a way where the student can stay engaged, helping them to learn better. Children with SEN sometimes struggle with building up their self-esteem, therefore you will be doing exercises with the children to make them feel more confident when participating with their peers. If you are accepted for the role you should have the ability to stay calm in stressful situations, and be able to find appropriate ways to support and respond to the children in difficult times. The school is looking for someone who has the ability to be sensitive and understanding towards the children in and out of the classroom.
