Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and deliver inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of SEN students.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the attention and assistance they require.
- Create and maintain an inclusive and welcoming learning environment.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
- Assist with the organization and management of classroom resources and materials.
- Monitor and report on students’ progress and well-being.
- Work in conjunction with the school’s SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant is preferred but not mandatory.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience and empathy when working with students with diverse needs.
- Familiarity with various SEN conditions and strategies for supporting them.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent) are a plus.
- Possession of DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).
