Ortus Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Earlsfield, currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team.

The Role:

You will be supporting children across primary age groups, with a strong focus on pupils with Autism, working both 1:1 and within the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 support for pupils on the autistic spectrum
• Supporting learning within the classroom environment
• Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and behaviour management
• Monitoring, recording, and reporting pupil progress
• Supporting children during break times and lunch times
• Supervising pupils during structured and unstructured activities
• Managing challenging behaviour using positive strategies
• Building strong relationships with staff, pupils, and parents
• Acting as a positive role model at all times

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• A genuine passion for supporting children with SEN
• Experience working with children with Autism, ADHD, or additional needs
• A positive, caring, and energetic attitude
• Confidence, resilience, and strong communication skills
• An understanding of safeguarding and child protection
• The ability to motivate and engage young learners

Requirements:

• Degree holders, NVQ/Level 3 in Childcare, or experienced Teaching Assistants are all welcome to apply
• Previous school-based experience is highly desirable
