Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (Year 1 SEN TA)

Are you a compassionate, proactive and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We’re recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and supportive school seeking an experienced TA to work closely with three pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

About the Role:

You will be supporting:

  • One child with Down’s Syndrome – assisting with communication, learning, and personal development.
  • One child with Autism and Global Developmental Delay – providing structured, consistent support both in and out of the classroom.
  • One child with ADHD, Developmental Delay and behavioural needs – helping to maintain engagement and implement individual strategies.

This role involves intimate care for two pupils, and will require you to work flexibly, often following therapy and intervention plans both indoors and outdoors. You’ll be part of a dedicated team ensuring each child has the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience supporting children with significant SEND needs.
  • Is adaptable, patient, and quick-thinking.
  • Can follow and implement individual therapy and learning plans.
  • Is comfortable with personal care duties.
  • Has a genuine passion for helping every child achieve their potential.
