Role Overview
Join our team as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, supporting children with Autism and Speech and Language needs. This position is ideal for someone passionate about education and making a difference in the lives of SEN children. You will be working 1:1 with an Autistic child in a Year 3 class within a welcoming and supportive school environment.
Responsibilities
- 1:1 Child Support: Provide dedicated support to an Autistic child in Year 3.
- Classroom Assistance: Aid the class teacher with various tasks.
- Whole Class Support: Help support the entire class when needed.
- Childcare During Breaks: Look after children during break times.
- Behaviour Management: Handle challenging behaviour effectively.
- Parent Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with parents.

Required Skills and Attributes
- Passion for SEN Support: Genuine interest in supporting children with special educational needs.
- Experience with Autism/ADHD: Prior experience working with children with Autism or ADHD.
- Enthusiasm for Education: Natural enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Progress Monitoring: Ability to track and record a child’s progress.
- Safeguarding Knowledge: Understanding of child safeguarding practices.
- Positive Attitude: Energetic, caring, and can-do mindset.
