We are delighted to announce our partner mainstream primary school with a ‘GOOD’ Ofsted rating now seeks for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team to support pupils with SEN. This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs, particularly those with Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and behavioural challenges. You will be working 1:1 with a Year 4 pupil with Autism, helping them engage positively in their learning and reach their full potential. The school boasts a warm, collaborative atmosphere, with a senior leadership team known for their supportive approach, commitment to professional development, and dedication to staff wellbeing.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
- Prepare learning materials and help set up the classroom environment
- Assist with behaviour regulation and promote positive learning habits
- Provide focused 1:1 support, as well as small-group intervention when required
- Encourage independence, confidence, and emotional resilience in pupils
- Work collaboratively with teachers and the SEN team to ensure every child is supported effectively
