The primary school located in Rotherhithe are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teaching assistant to work closely with pupils who are both non-verbal and have speech and language difficulties.

You will be required to support the pupils using engaging activities, tasks and visual aids (Makaton and Flash Cards) to help the pupils develop their communication and social skills. You will be tasked with helping the pupils improve their pronunciation of words as well as their overall confidence with speaking and communicating with peers and staff members.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with pupils who have difficulties with speech and language
• The ability to build rapport and meet the pupils emotional, mental and social needs
• Confidence about working 1:1 and in small groups
• Excellent time management and attendance
• An eager and enthusiastic approach to work
