We are seeking dedicated Speech & Language Therapy Teaching Assistant to join their team for an immediate start. The Speech & Language Therapy Teaching Assistant will work collaboratively within a class team, playing a key role in the implementation of speech and language programmes. You will support students by facilitating communication activities, assisting in the development of visual and transition resources, and ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver communication activities for individuals and small groups, with guidance from the class teacher and Speech & Language Therapists (SaLT).
- Implement tailored communication programmes created by the SaLT as required.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to prepare appropriate teaching resources, including visual aids and communication tools for lessons and group sessions.
- Contribute to the creation of transition packs, including timetables, motivation strategies, and support materials to facilitate smooth transitions both within and outside of the school setting.
- Advocate for students’ communication needs, ensuring they are consistently met and supported within the classroom.
- Accurately record interventions delivered in the classroom and track student progress.
- Develop and prepare visual materials to support therapy sessions and classroom activities.
- Work closely under the supervision of Speech & Language Therapists and class teachers, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Provide mentorship and support to less experienced colleagues, modelling best practice in speech and language support.
- Maintain detailed written records of student observations, interventions, and progress.
- Contribute to the training and professional development of staff and colleagues.
- Undertake general Teaching Assistant duties as required to support the learning environment.
Ideal Candidate:

While previous experience in Speech & Language Therapy or working with children with communication difficulties is advantageous, it is not a requirement, as full training and support will be provided.
