Ortus recruitment are seeking for recent graduates in sports to support our partnered school as a Teaching Assistant. Our partnered school based in Clapham has two sites and they are looking to trial candidates with recent experience coaching children or working with children 1 to 1. The school has an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating and staff that will make you feel welcome on your trial day. This is a perfect opportunity for any individual with a sporty background with transferrable skills, who would like to transition into the education sector to support children in a classroom environment. Also, we welcome candidates with experience/qualifications relevant to working with primary aged children.

As a sports graduate teaching assistant, you will support the teaching staff in delivering high-quality education and programs. Your role will involve assisting in organizing activities, and providing guidance to students.

Please note: This position is classroom based and candidates will need availability for an immediate trial day. This role will have the flexibility to start in September 2023, dependant on your trial/interview.

Working Days: Monday – Friday (No Weekends)

Working Hours: 08.30am – 16.00pm

Location: Clapham

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of various sports disciplines, rules, and techniques.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
• Experience working with children or young adults in a sports or educational setting is desirable.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
• Knowledge of safety protocols, first aid procedures, and injury prevention techniques.
• Team player with the ability to collaborate with teachers, coaches, and staff members.
• Genuine passion for sports and a commitment to promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
