Do you have experience working with children with challenging behaviour? Do you have an assertive but patient approach to teaching and development?
Ortus Recruitment are looking to recruit a resilient and proactive individual to take on the fulfilling role of a Year 2 Teaching Assistant to support and encourage a child who exhibits challenging behaviour.
**Candidates must be able to commit to a long-term and full-time role (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4.00pm)**
The role:
The successful individual will have a firm but fair approach and will be passionate about aiding in the academic, social and emotional development of children with additional needs.
You will be expected to work on a 1:1 basis with the child as well as Teaching Assistant responsibilities such as managing classroom behaviour, keeping the classroom organised and leading interventions in small groups.
**Individuals with mentoring experience or with behaviour management experience in a school setting will be ideal!**
Main Expectations:
- Strong behaviour management
- Experience working with SEN children
- Strong numeracy/literacy skills
- Knowledge of the KS1 curriculum
- Must be able to provide: an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply for one through Ortus Recruitment), proof of Right to Work in the UK and 2 references
