Teaching Assistant

An outstanding School for students aged 3-11 seek a for a to support pupil with mild to moderate, complex learning needs. Our partner school is part of a unique group, who work closely with the other schools in the group and believe in ‘thinking differently’ and being as creative as possible in our teaching.

They are seeking to recruit an energetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a team of dedicated staff. You will need to be passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and committed to providing them with the best educational support possible. You will be working in close partnership with our teachers, therapists, other teaching assistants and parents.

Working hours: 8.00 – 16.30, Monday to Friday, term-time only

Responsibilities:

  • To assist teaching staff to plan and prepare lessons and resources within the school curriculum.
  • To make and prepare resources for teaching and therapy staff.
  • To reinforce targets throughout the school day.
  • To support students both within the class and during unstructured situations.
  • To support the teaching and therapy staff to maintain detailed case notes of all children seen.
  • To produce and maintain up-to-date pupils’ profile and behaviour plans.
  • To follow school procedures in reporting incidents and safeguarding concerns.
  • To act as a resource and support for other staff members working with the children.
  • To participate in supervision and support as required.
  • To maintain continuous professional development.
