Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Teaching Assistant Support for Pupils:

  • Foster academic progress by supporting pupils under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion Leader.
  • Set challenging expectations, promoting self-esteem and independence.
  • Implement group or 1:1 interventions to support pupils facing emotional or social barriers to learning.
  • Build constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.

Teaching Assistant Support for Teachers:

  • Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive environment in line with lesson plans, assisting with the display of pupils’ work.
  • Use strategies, directed by the teacher, to support pupils in achieving learning goals.
  • Collaborate with the teacher to organize learning activities and clarify your support role.

Qualifications Needed:

Essential:

  • Good literacy skills – GCSE Grade C or above in English Language; Level 2 English or above; or equivalent.
  • Good numeracy skills – GCSE Grade C or above in Maths; Level 2 Maths or above; or equivalent.

Desirable:

  • An honours degree (preferably Upper Second) or equivalent.
