Teaching Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is excited to partner with a well-regarded primary school in Streatham, Lambeth, to find an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant. The school is committed to providing a nurturing environment for its pupils and is looking for a passionate individual to support the academic and emotional development of students in the classroom.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to deliver high-quality learning experiences. Your role will involve supporting pupils individually and in groups, helping them to stay engaged and succeed in their studies. You will also assist in creating a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils who may need additional assistance
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages children to participate and thrive
- Help with behaviour management and ensuring the well-being of all students
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources
- Communicate regularly with parents and staff to ensure the best outcomes for students
Requirements:
- Genuine passion for working with children in an educational setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues
- Experience in a similar role, ideally in a primary school setting
- Patient, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting students
- Available for full-time work (Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:00)
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
