Ortus recruitment are looking for a full-time long-term teaching assistant to work in one of our partnered primary schools in the Wandsworth borough in Balham. The chosen applicant will be friendly, proactive and hardworking, ready to take on different tasks and help out the head teacher.

LOCATION: Balham

JOB TYPE: Full-time (Monday to Friday)

SALARY: £85.00 – £105.00

START: Immediate

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the head teacher with planning daily activities.
• Works 1:1 with children and small groups to help them learn.
• Support the children with learning difficulties.
• Prepare the classroom for the lessons and helps clean up after.
• Admin activities such as photocopying, filing, displaying work, recording and reporting important notes.  
• Build relationships with the parents of the children to ensure good communication and a warm environment.   
• Looks after the children’s health, safety, and wellbeing and making sure all harmful tools are kept at a distance from the children.

Requirements:

• Experience and comfortability working with SEN children
• Able to make good connections with teachers, children and parents.
• Sensitivity, patience and dedication when it comes to supporting the children.
