Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our vibrant schools in Hounslow. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, students, and other staff members to support the educational, social, and emotional development of pupils across various key stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, ensuring all students can participate and thrive.
  • 1:1 and Group Support: Provide targeted assistance to individual students or small groups, particularly those with additional learning needs (SEN/SEMH).
  • Behaviour Management: Promote positive behaviour in the classroom and around the school, using appropriate strategies to manage challenging situations.
  • Learning Resources: Prepare and organise materials to support lessons, as directed by the teacher.
  • Progress Monitoring: Help track students’ progress and provide feedback to teachers to inform lesson planning.
  • Pastoral Care: Offer emotional support to students, fostering a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • SEN Support: Work with students with specific needs such as ASD, ADHD, or SLCN, tailoring support to their requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
  • General Duties: Supervise students during lunch breaks, school trips, and extracurricular activities as required.

Requirements:

  • Essential:
  • Experience working with children in a school setting (voluntary or paid).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • A proactive, adaptable, and empathetic approach.
  • Desirable:
  • Previous experience supporting SEN students (e.g., ASD, SEMH, SLCN).
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum across EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Training in safeguarding, first aid, or behaviour management.
