Teaching Assistant
Ortus Recruitment is excited to partner with a well-established, highly-rated primary school in Streatham, currently looking to hire a passionate and experienced Teaching Assistant. This vibrant school has earned an ‘Outstanding’ rating from Ofsted and prides itself on its dedicated teaching staff, supportive leadership, and commitment to providing an exceptional learning experience for its pupils. The school is now seeking a dynamic Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting primary-aged children with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting children with SEMH needs, helping them engage and succeed in the classroom. You will work closely with teachers and other school staff to create an inclusive, supportive environment that promotes positive learning experiences. Your creativity, adaptability, and dedication will be key in helping students thrive.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A creative and flexible approach to supporting learning
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team setting
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive attitude
- Effective communication skills, especially in building relationships with students and staff
- Previous experience working with primary-aged children or experience in alternative settings such as youth clubs, private tutoring, sports coaching, childminding, or voluntary work
We Welcome Applicants Who Have:
- A relevant degree (e.g., English, Psychology, Performing Arts, Maths, Science) or other qualifications related to working with children. We also welcome applications from individuals with other degrees and experience working with children.
