Ortus Recruitment are proud to be partnering with a vibrant and inclusive mainstream primary school in Herne Hill, currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning needs. This long-term role is perfect for someone looking to make a meaningful impact within a supportive school community, with the possibility of continuing into the next academic year (2025/26) for the right candidate.

The Role:

• Provide 1:1 support to a pupil with specific learning needs, helping them engage with the curriculum and daily school life
• Build a trusting relationship that encourages progress, independence, and confidence
• Work in close collaboration with class teachers and SEN staff to adapt and personalise learning
• Contribute to a positive and nurturing learning environment, promoting inclusion and emotional wellbeing

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience supporting children in a primary school setting, ideally across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
• A good understanding of SEN strategies and the flexibility to adapt to individual learning styles
• A caring, patient, and proactive approach to learning support
• A genuine interest in working with children and making a difference to their development
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both with pupils and staff
