Ortus Recruitment is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Battersea that is seeking a committed and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team immediately. This is a full-time, long-term role paid via PAYE (£89–£105 per day) — with no umbrella companies or hidden deductions.

🔍 The Role:

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour
• Implement tailored behaviour strategies and promote emotional regulation
• Build trust and rapport with the student to support their academic and personal growth
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider pastoral team

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs and/or autism
• Confident in managing challenging behaviour calmly and professionally
• Committed to full-time, long-term work (Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4pm)
• Immediate availability for trial and start

🏅 Desirable Skills & Backgrounds:

• Team Teach, PRICE, or MAPA training (preferred, not essential)
• Backgrounds in youth work, sports coaching, social care, or alternative provision
• Graduates in Psychology, Education, Sports Science, Maths, English, or Sciences encouraged to apply
• Strong interpersonal skills, resilience, and a nurturing, consistent approach
