Ortus Recruitment are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Putney. This full-time, long-term position offers an exciting opportunity to support a vibrant Year 4 class and make a real difference in pupils’ learning and development.

As a valued member of the classroom team, you will work closely with the class teacher to:

• Support and engage children with the KS2 curriculum
• Lead small group and 1:1 interventions in reading and maths
• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, organised learning environment
• Encourage learning through play and creativity
• Build strong relationships with pupils and colleagues
• Provide additional support for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) when required

Role Details:

• Start: Immediate trial day available
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
• Pay: £89 – £105 per day (PAYE, no umbrella fees)
• Location: Tooting, Wandsworth Borough

The ideal Teaching Assistant will:

• Have prior experience supporting children in KS1 or KS2
• Demonstrate a patient, proactive, and engaging approach
• Show initiative while being a strong team player
• Hold a Level 3 qualification or a minimum 2:2 degree
• Possess excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills
• Have a genuine passion for education and child development
