Ortus Recruitment is working closely with a supportive and forward-thinking mainstream primary school in Streatham that is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. This role will involve providing tailored 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with additional learning needs. The school is looking for someone patient, resilient, and confident in supporting children who may require academic and emotional guidance throughout the school day.

About the Role

• Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND
• Adapt classroom materials to suit individual learning needs
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
• Encourage independence and positive behaviour
• Support the pupil both inside and outside of the classroom

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience supporting children with SEND in a primary setting
• Strong behaviour management skills
• Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach
• Ability to build trust and positive relationships
• Committed to a long-term, full-time position
