We have an opportunity available for an immediate start in a multi-cultural mainstream Primary School in the London Borough of Brent. The school are seeking a Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with various SEN including autism, down syndrome and speech, language & communication needs. You will be required to implement interventions for pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis.

For this role you will work in year 2/Key Stage 1 under the direction of the SENCO to provide intervention support for individuals and small groups of children.

Candidate Requirements

• Knowledge/experience of working with children with a range of learning needs, including autism, down syndrome and speech, language & communication needs
• Phonics experience/Makaton trained (desirable)
• A CACHE Level 2/3 qualification or degree educated
• Patient and compassionate person
• Ability/willingness to learn skills to work effectively with pupils with speech and language barriers.
• Ability to engage with pupils of different attainment levels
• Is keen to work as part of a team and share ideas and good practice
