The Job Information:

· Pay: £425 – £450 p/w PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees

· Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join one of our vibrant Mainstream Primary Schools located in the London Borough of Southwark, Camberwell. We are seeking someone who has experience working alongside children in either a care, residential, school or social care setting, transferrable skills and experiences are also welcome, work as a youth mentor or in youth clubs. The school is Ofsted rated ‘Good’ they have managed to maintain this rating for a number of years, they pride themselves on the positive working relationship amongst staff in the school, and that helps to create an diverse and inclusive learning environment for pupils.

Successful candidates MUST have TWO obtainable childcare/school references and a clear Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to process one through Ortus Recruitment – £52

The school are seeking someone who can begin immediately, and commit to full time, long term work ongoing through September 2023. Ideally, the successful candidate will need to be able to hit the ground running, easily building positive rapport with both pupils and staff, helping to manage behaviour effectively and encourage pupils to engage in learning. Transferrable experience is welcome, if you have experience managing challenging behaviour or supporting mainstream/SEN learners in any capacity, please apply.

Within this role, you will be responsible for assisting the Class Teacher in supporting a Year 4 class, you will be required to undertake general Teaching Assistant duties, supporting the children with their classwork and assisting the teacher with setting out and preparing tasks and activities for the pupils. You need to liaise with both the Class Teacher and the Parents/Carers to provide feedback on the pupils academic and behavioural progress. You will also be tasked with undertake administrative duties, such as updating the class display boards, laminating visual aids/flashcards and marking classwork/homework.
