Position Overview: We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their learning goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, tailored to their specific needs and abilities.
  • Collaborate closely with SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and classroom teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Assist in creating and adapting learning materials to suit the needs of students with SEN.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social and emotional development.
  • Implement behavior management strategies and provide emotional support as needed.
  • Monitor and record student progress, communicating effectively with parents and caregivers.
  • Attend relevant training and professional development sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN support.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Experience working with children with SEN is a significant advantage.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
