About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons, while providing targeted support to pupils who may need extra help accessing the curriculum. You’ll play an active role in both classroom learning and the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils’ learning across the curriculum, both in class and in small groups
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching resources and classroom displays
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support pupils with varying needs, including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL), low prior attainment, or social-emotional needs
  • Encourage good behaviour and help manage classroom routines
  • Provide occasional one-to-one support as directed by the teacher or SENCO

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with primary-aged children (in a school or other relevant setting)
  • A patient, approachable, and proactive attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and child development
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) are desirable but not essential
