Ortus Recruitment is excited to be working with a highly-regarded Primary School in Croydon, which is currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education to make a real difference in children’s lives while developing their career. The role is initially long-term for the academic year, with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the Year 2 class, helping to create a positive and enriching learning environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities
• Supporting pupils with their classwork, particularly in reading and writing
• Planning and delivering targeted intervention sessions to improve pupil development and attainment
• Conducting observations of pupils and contributing to their progress reports
• Helping manage classroom behavior and providing additional support as needed
• Assisting the class during weekly swimming lessons, ensuring the safety and participation of all pupils (applicants must be able to swim)
