Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream Primary School, in Tolworth, and they are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with KS1 or KS2, supporting them in their academic studies as well as helping them at break and lunch.

The role:

• Position : Teaching Assistant KS1 or KS2
• Location: Tolworth
• Full time – long term
• Immediate start
• 8:30am-4:00pm
• £80-£90 PAYE

Within this role you will be :

• Working with children 1:1 or in small groups, supporting them with their numeracy and literacy skills.
• Implementing the school’s behaviour code and managing the classroom behaviour.
• Helping the class teacher prepare the lessons, classroom and contribute creative ideas.
• Provide emotional support for students at break and lunch.
• Keep record of the children’s progress and highlight areas that need improving.

Requirements :

• Excellent communication skills
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum
• Positive and sympathetic approach to children
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• DBS on the update service or willing to get one through Ortus Recruitment (£52)
