Here at Ortus Recruitment we are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join one of our vibrant mainstream Primary Schools, located in the London Borough of Southwark, Rotherhithe. This school are seeking someone who is passionate and dedicated about working alongside children and committed to aiding their academic and behavioural development.

The Job Information:

• Position Teaching Assistant
• Pay: £80 – £90 per day, PAYE – No hidden agency/umbrella company fees
• Location: Southwark, Rotherhithe
• Role: Full time, Long term, Monday – Friday (08:30 – 16:00)

Within this role you will be required to work alongside the Class Teacher and support a full class of pupils in Year 3. You will be required to follow instructions from the class teacher effectively, as well as being able to work off of your own initiative. We are seeking someone who has experience working alongside children in a school setting and has the proven ability to manage challenging behaviour. You may be tasked with undertaking administrative duties such as assisting the class teacher with updating class display boards in the classroom and the corridor, as well as assisting the class teacher in preparing classwork by photocopying and laminating worksheets.

The requirements:

• You will need to have experience supporting children in a school setting. Transferrable skills and experience are welcome, work in care, residential or social settings supporting children is welcome
• You will need to have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent. You will also need to have a minimum Grade C in GCSE’s or equivalent (Essential)
• You will need to be passionate about working alongside children and dedicated to aiding their overall development
• You will need to be able to commit to full time, long term work and start immediately
• You will need to have a ‘Can do’ attitude and have a positive attitude to working
• You will need to be able to hit the ground running and be able to build a positive rapport with staff in order to maintain the current working environment
