Ortus Recruitment are working with an amazing mainstream primary school located in North Sheen and they are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to commit to a full time-long term role. The candidate applying for this role should be able to commute to the Richmond area and should have a full enhanced DBS on the update service.

Within this role you will be supporting the class teacher in day to day activities such as, setting up the classroom ready for the lesson, ensuring the classroom is safe, and working 1:1 or in small groups with students who have learning difficulties. You will also need to ensure that you are looking after the students physical, emotional and social needs.

The requirements:

• You will need to have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom setting, preferably Primary but Secondary experience is also welcome
•  You will need to be able to easily build a positive rapport with both staff and students
•  You will need to be passionate about working alongside children and have a natural dedicated to wanting to aid their development academically, mentally, socially and emotionally
•  You will need to be patient and resilient whilst working, able to think on your feet and solve problems quickly
•  You will need to be confident in leading 1:1 and/or small group interventions
•  You need to have a strong academic background, educated to degree level or equivalent (desired, not essential)

YOU MUST HAVE TWO OBTAINABLE CHILDCARE/SCHOOL BASED REFERENCES.
