Teaching Assistant – Performing Arts Background
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a specialization in Performing Arts to join our team in the Merton Borough. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting teachers in the classroom, working with small groups of students, providing individual support to students with special needs and to enhance the learning experience of our students with the knowledge of performing arts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting teachers in the planning, preparation and delivery of lessons across the curriculum with a focus on performing arts
- Working with small groups of students to provide additional support and reinforcement of learning in music, dance, and drama
- Supporting students with special needs, including those with learning difficulties and disabilities in the performing arts
- Supporting teachers in the assessment and tracking of student progress in performing arts
- Providing support for extracurricular activities, as required
- Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
- Incorporating knowledge of performing arts in enhancing the overall learning experience for students
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
- Strong knowledge and background in performing arts (e.g. music, dance, drama)
- Proven experience in teaching or coaching performing arts to students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team
- A commitment to ongoing professional development
- A positive and flexible approach to work
