Salary: £89–£100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and vibrant primary school in Sheffield. The ideal candidate will support classroom teachers to deliver engaging lessons, provide individual and small group support to pupils, and help foster a positive, inclusive learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in children’s education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality education and daily classroom activities
- Work with individuals and small groups of pupils, including those with additional needs
- Support pupils’ emotional, social, and behavioural development
- Prepare resources and help with classroom displays
- Supervise pupils during break times and outings
- Support the teacher with record-keeping and assessments where appropriate
- Promote a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for all learners
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in a primary school setting (preferred but not essential)
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or working towards)
- A calm, patient, and flexible approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed
- A current Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
