Ortus Recruitment is currently working closely with a mainstream primary school based in Wandsworth Common, who are seeking highly motivated and passionate Psychology Graduates with experience supporting children. This role will be a full-time position Monday – Friday (08:30am – 16:00pm) supporting the classroom as a Teaching/ Learning Support Assistant. Our partnered school is a well-established primary school with a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating, with a supportive senior leadership team who are willing to provide Teaching Assistants the tools needed to help pupil achieve academically. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Psychology and a desire to work with young children to support their learning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons to primary school students
• Working one-on-one and in small groups with students to provide additional support and intervention as needed
• Helping to prepare engaging and interactive activities
• Monitoring student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher and parents
• Participating in professional development opportunities (i.e. CPD Courses)

Key Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Maths, English, Sport Science, Drama, Education, or a related field
• Experience working with primary aged children, either through previous teaching assistant experience or voluntary work
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Able to commit to working hours – Monday to Friday (08:30am – 16:00pm)

This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday during term time only.

The salary is competitive and will be based on experience (£75 – £90 per day PAYE – no umbrella companies), which will be paid weekly. Ortus Recruitment offer long-term opportunities for candidates, which will lead to professional development and career progression (Temp to Perm).
