Teaching Assistant – Sutton – SEN
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant with a focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join our team at our school in Sutton, London. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to provide support for students with a range of SEN, including those with autism, dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing one-on-one and small group support for students with SEN
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons
- Supporting the classroom teacher in managing student behaviour
- Helping to prepare materials and resources for lessons
- Keeping accurate records of student progress and providing regular updates to teachers and parents
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech therapists or occupational therapists, to support the students’ needs
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working with students with SEN, particularly autism and dyslexia
- A level 3 qualification in SEN or related field (such as Team Teach)
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with using assistive technologies and knowledge of different accommodations and modifications is a plus
