Ortus Recruitment are working with a mainstream primary school in Teddington and they are on the searching for a Teaching Assistant to commit to a full time-long term role. If you apply for this role you will need prior experience working with children in a school setting and you will need to be able to start immediately.

Roles/Responsibilities:

• Help manage the class behaviour
• Watch, record and report students’ progress
• Set up and tidy classrooms to ensure a safe environment
• Look after children who are unwell or upset
• Help teachers prepare learning materials
• Liaise with parents, teachers and other professionals

Skills needed for this role:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sensitivity and understanding towards the children’s needs
• Ability to be flexible and open to change
• Patience and ability to stay calm in stressful situations
• Active listening skills to build strong relationship with the students
