We are seeking a dedicated Classroom Assistant to support our teachers and provide hands-on assistance in the classroom, contributing to our pupils’ overall development.
Role Overview:
As a Classroom Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting teachers and helping pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will assist with classroom management, contribute to lesson preparation, and work closely with individual students and small groups to ensure every child reaches their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons.
- Assist in preparing learning materials and resources for classroom activities.
- Work with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to provide additional support where needed.
- Support pupils with their reading, writing, and other subject areas.
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, safe learning environment.
- Encourage social interaction and the development of key skills such as confidence and communication.
- Provide feedback to teachers on pupils’ progress and any areas of concern.
- Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) when required.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience working with young children, ideally within a school or educational setting.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A caring and patient approach to working with children.
- Ability to engage and motivate children to learn.
- A commitment to ensuring the well-being and safeguarding of pupils.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent qualification.
- Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs.
- First Aid qualification (desirable but not essential).
