Ortus Recruitment are looking to recruit a proactive teaching assistant to commit to a full time – long term role in a mainstream primary school.

The role

• Position: Teaching Assistant
• Location: Wimbledon
• Full time – long term
• Immediate start
• 8:30am-4:00pm (hour lunch)

Within this role you will be working within a year 3 class supporting the class teacher throughout the day by planning lessons and contributing creative ideas. You will also be working in small groups and 1:1 with students who have learning difficulties, ensuring they are staying focused and engaged in the lesson. Not only will you be supporting children inside the classroom but during break and lunch providing emotional support.

The ideal candidate will have :

• Knowledge of the KS1/ KS2 Curriculum
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service OR willing to apply for a new one
• Right to work in the UK
• Can provide two references
• Prior experience working with children
•  CACHE level 3/ Equivalent
• Graduate of a core subject (highly desirable)
