About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a vibrant primary school in Sheffield. This role is specifically for our Year 3 class, where you will play a key role in supporting pupils’ academic and social development.
You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, provide targeted support to individual pupils or small groups, and contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher in delivering the Year 3 curriculum.
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning objectives.
- Help to prepare classroom materials and resources.
- Promote positive behaviour and manage classroom routines effectively.
- Contribute to pupil assessments and progress tracking.
- Foster a safe, stimulating and nurturing classroom environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting (ideally KS2).
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- A patient, flexible and proactive approach to supporting pupils’ needs.
Desirable:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience working with children with additional needs (SEND).
